Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire lies in that tranquil part of Montreal's West Island. Most people do not know what the term means as they believe that it's an island that is separate from Montreal. It is actually this part of Montreal is more than that. West Island includes the entire portion of Lachine towards the west. Amanda Brugel was born there in fact, it's true. She only stayed for a short time. Brugel lived in Courtice located outside of Oshawa, Ontario. She wanted to become dancing at first, but due to an explosive growth rate, she outgrew all of her dancing partners. She acknowledged in a piece written by The Toronto Star that she was 6'1" tall while wearing heels. Once I outgrew my male partners I stopped. Some former dancers move into acting. For Brugel she was urged to do so by the drama teacher at her high school. The teacher suggested that she try her hand at a character in the annual school production. The teacher suggested she take on a part in the school's annual production. She ended up being chosen to play Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program and graduated with her Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in 2000.In the twenty years since, Brugel has landed roles in over 60 shows both on small and big screens. She attracted the most media attention after she got the role of Rita on the award-winning television series, The Handmaid's Tale
